I am Professor and Larry Drummond Endowed Chair in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at University of Alabama (UA). Before joining UA, I was Warren Nicholson Endowed Professor and the Founding Director of Institute for Artificial Intelligence and Microelectronics (IAIM) at the University of South Alabama (USA), Mobile, AL. I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science & Engineering from University at Buffalo, The State University of New York in 2013.
My research interests lie in intelligent VLSI circuits and systems, artificial intelligence (AI) hardware, hardware design for privacy, and AI for biomedical applications. My group is interested in exploring device, circuit, architecture, and application-level solutions for developing efficient computing circuits and systems, with an emphasis on AI, videos, and cancer detection. For more about our research see: RESEARCH.
